I am not cynical, but it is now time to REREAD
MARX. I will start indirectly here a new long term
series of Marx Readings since it is now time to
revisit these texts from a trans-capital point of
view. In retrospect I openly also want to
criticize the French post‰68 attempts of rereading
Marx. They were just preoccupied with semiotics
and phenomenology as an attempt to touch up their
depressions and failures after ë68. I am in
particular disappointed by Althussers
contributions to the book volume ‹Lire le
CapitalŠ. His text contributions were
uncomprehensive and tried to marry Marx to the
theoretical chique of the street cafe. Before you
jump on me -- and I was also in favor of
Althusser‰s without having read the Lire le
Capital - go back to the Athusser text and check
it out. It sucks.
